Twin City area youth and young parents get a good start in the world of work through Employment Action Center.   EAC provides a wide range of FREE career services for youth and young parents who meet eligibility requirements.  Here are some of the programs...
 

YOUNG DADS
                   
We want to develop a new generation of fathers, capable men who are financially responsible, encouraging, nurturing, and emotionally accountable to their children—the kind of dads who will create safe, more viable communities and, in turn, will raise a new generation of youth.

                       
Fresh
Start   

We help Minneapolis youth ages11-21 who have offended or are at risk of offending to achieve their educational and employment goals.
                      

Bright Futures
We provide a vision of hope, a rainbow of success to teen parents who want to enroll or re-enroll in school, a GED, or an alternative school program.


PROJECT 
UPLIFT

We assist young fathers (18-30) and mothers on MFIP or TANF who are interested in Warehouse Operations trainingAfter completion of the 6-week program, you will receive fork-lift certification.


Youth Futures
Ready for a positive change?  Youth Futures has the tools to help Minneapolis residents ages 16- 21 achieve your educational and job goals.


New Chance
New Chance is a program for young parents ages 18- 26 who are receiving MFIP assistance and who want help finding employment.  We will help you get job training, day care, a bus card or tokens, and other things you need to get a good job.

First Opportunity
                   


First Opportunity is an early-intervention program for inner city adolescents ages 12-15 attending Folwell school.  Youth explore career options, gain first-time work experience through community service, and receive support from a career mentor.
