SUPPORTING EACH WOMAN'S WORK AND LIFE POTENTIAL!
Women In Transition is a nonprofit career service
available to all women regardless of work experience, education or
income level. Services are offered on a sliding fee scale (no cost
to those at lowest income eligibility). Women in Transitions helps
women to explore career options, set achievable goals, and develop
successful job-seeking strategies. Women In Transition
offers the following four types of workshops:
1. Personal Empowerment Seminars
These single-topic seminars help you make positive
changes that involve moving out of your comfort zone and gaining
more understanding of ways to pursue the life of your dreams.
The Dish - Nourishing Communication
Do you wish those difficult conversations could go
more smoothly? Are you having trouble asserting yourself? "The
Dish" can help. For women who want to make their point with
positive results. Learn the difference between assertion,
non-assertion, and aggression. Gain self-awareness and come away
with practical skills. Wed., April 2, 1-4 p.m. Cost:
$30 (sliding-fee scale available)
Weathering Change
How to weather a career storm...or other
unexpected changes. Forecast ways to navigate change with
less stress and more success. Use motivation, wisdom and
balance to stay on course no matter which way the wind is blowing.
Topics on how to listen to your inner voice and when to say no.
May 7, 1-4 p.m. Cost: $30 (sliding-fee scale
available)
Transitions - Moving On!
Overwhelmed by work and life changes? Learn
creative ways to gain comfort, composure and control during life's
major transitions. June 4, 1-4 p.m.. Cost: $30
(sliding-fee scale available)
2. Job Exploration Workshop
Discover who you really are and
what comes naturally to you. For women looking for the first
job, next job, or a job change.
Learn to break the cycle of job
dissatisfaction and overcome the fear of making a job change.

3. Job Search Essentials Services
Meet one-to-one with a career
counselor, discuss your job search concerns, create a personalized
action plan, and attend seminars that will help you achieve your
goals. Job search support groups are held Wednesdays, 1-2:30
p.m. Pre-registration required.

4. Job Skills Workshops
This workshop is offered in a
day-long format covering all three topics (9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.)
and as individual workshops in the evening (6:00-8:00 p.m.).

· Interviewing Essentials (March 10 & April 14 at Southdale Library)
· Networking for Job Leads (March 17 & April 21)
· Job Goals (March 24 & April 28)

5. Workplace Effectiveness Seminars
Each session opens with a
"Gathering Time" in a comfortable, informal setting. We
invite you to join us from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for light
refreshments and a highly interactive seminar. Cost:

COACHING
At Career Transitions for Women, we
have 18 years' experience specializing in the career and
life-planning needs of high-potential women. We offer
individual customized sessions to fit your needs. Meet with an
experienced counselor for 1-2 hour sessions, day or evening, at
your convenience. All counseling held at Lenox Community
Center in St. Louis Park. The cost is $65 per hour.
